Oh, cool!  Anti-choicer’s are finally being upfront about the fact that they don’t want people to own their own bodies!  This is great coming from the far right, who’s mantra seems to be “Small government! (unless you are a pregnant person, because then we want the government to literally own and regulate your body).”
Also, this is a continuation of the sensationalist depictions of a)sentient fetuses and b)fetuses floating in a void without a pregnant person involved at all. Erasure, folks!  It’s a huge part of the anti-choice group’s messed up argument.

I wrote an email to the address provided on the website asking “Who is Umbert’s mother, and where is she?” Here’s the response I got: E: If you’re referring to the recent outer space storyline, Umbert is imagining himself in space and is connected to the “mothership.” I’m doing a combination spoof of Star Trek and Star Wars. Go to http://www.catholic.net for the daily episode. If you’re talking about the way Umbert regularly appears, we are seeing Umbert from inside his mother’s abdomen. The bubble that envelopes Umbert is the placenta. I never show Umbert’s mother or anyone else in the outside world. Only the inner world of unborn babies is shown. Always assume Umbert is securely inside his mother’s womb. The rest is a huge stretch of your imagination. Thanks, I hope I’ve answered your question. Your Friend for “Life,” Gary Cangemi Oh, of course. That explains everything. What?

It’s always funny when they don’t even know proper anatomy. That anatomically inaccurate bubbly is actually the uterus. A placenta attaches to just one side of the uterus and looks like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Placenta.svg
It reminds me of the time when a pro-lifer explained to a bunch of us ladies that our vaginas were for peeing through. …Yeah. Always great when someone who has no idea how your body actually works feels more entitled to control it than you.

Facilities that provide checkups, physical and gynecological exams, cancer screening, birth control, abortions, and general health care services such as cholesterol and diabetes screening and various vaccines and treatments are generally known as clinics. You know, without the scare quotes.
Planned Parenthood also provides education on sex, sexuality, domestic violence, and sexual abuse to teens, parents, students, and clients. They push for more accessible education and care to minorities, education for adults with developmental disabilities, collect donations for domestic violence shelters, and host workshops for parents and children to talk about sex and puberty and to improve communication.
They provide educational services to over five million people per year, and provide health care services to three million.
In contrast…
Crisis pregnancy centers intentionally advertise themselves to confuse people looking for answers and clinics. They lie about fetal development, about abortion procedures, about the risks of abortion (more here), about where to get an abortion, and about the services they provide. They harass, stalk, and expose their victims, try to convert them, try to convince them to stay with their abusive husbands, and practice coercive adoption.
George W. Bush and allies funneled millions to dollars in grants to these centers - over $30 million, in fact (PDF).
Given the choice between funding one or the other, I’d say the pick is pretty obvious. Wouldn’t you?

Okay guys, this seriously looks like it came right out of 1984.
Did you read the book? You know that Big Brother were the bad guys, right?
And yeah, when you post all these religious ones… you lose any ability to claim that you’re not a religious group trying to impose your religion on everyone else.

This is one of the first posts I responded to when I started this blog. It’s still just as bad.
He has no right to expect the girl to carry a pregnancy for him at 14. That is a HIGH RISK pregnancy. She does not need to risk her life for him to have a kid his parents will have to pay for and she doesn’t want.
If you are pro-life, if you are against abortion you should talk to your partner before you have sex with them otherwise you shouldn’t be surprised if they CHOOSE what they want to do.

Also, how the fuck did this dudebro decide it was a son? That in and of itself speaks volumes. What a douche.

It’s just pathetic sometimes.

Sometimes people get angry and make asses of themselves. I won’t pretend I’m not one of them, but this stuff is just… sad.

The same tweeter who wished death on someone has said some really asinine things.

I asked her how she justified calling women* whores when she had no idea how they got pregnant. What about rape victims? She backpedaled but did not apologize. She said that rape and incest make up 1-7% of abortion patients. So I guess she thought it was fair to lump them in and judge them too. I asked about monogamous women. She said it’s their fault for having premarital sex. I asked about married women. She said it’s their fault for having sex without being ready to have a baby. I tried to explain why this doesn’t make sense. Nothing yet. No explanation or apology for this insult.

If she ever replies** I’m going to ask how using birth control is not “controlling one’s fertility”.

*She was talking about women so I went with it. Mentioning transmen and non-binary folks was just gonna take her off topic. =(

**Probably right after hell freezes over.

But here comes the really-just-silly part:

(Source)

That would involve abortion.

queercakes:

A tumblr pro-lifer was saying she believed abortion was wrong partially because of how “dangerous” it is for women. She believes being pro-women (or pro-uterus bearers) means being pro-life to protect women from the physical dangers of having an abortion.

I sent her a very kind message letting her know she was wrong and that women are 10x more likely to die from pregnancy and childbirth than from an abortion.

She sent me a private message asking for a citation.

I sent her one.

No reply, and she never posted it on her blog.

It is a shame that scientists kill such gifts. From the moment of conception they are ALIVE! I’m Pro-life!!!!!

Scientists kill them?
ALIVE? So are sperm, trees, cows, bacteria. Animals are actually conscious and can feel pain, too.
Also, why is this magical talking fetus singing happy BIRTHday? BIRTHBIRTHBIRTH

Heh.
Oh, and that picture? Not a living fetus. It’s a dead one. More specifically, it’s an aborted fetus. They really need to stop posting this particular set of photos as an example of living fetuses.

Here’s an ad for the defunding of Planned Parenthood. Can you count all the crazy things said? My favourite is when the guy says that PP preys on college kids and gets them hooked on contraceptives. What’s yours?

This anti-choice activist group is pretty much famous for doctoring footage of a Planned Parenthood and giving out false information. Here’s a few things they have wrong.

- They make it sound like the government hands out abortion money. Wrong. PP doesn’t use government funding for any abortions. (abortions count for only 3% of PP’s services)
- They make it sounds as if contraceptives are addictive. Who in the world could get addicted to estradiol and progesterones?
- They make it sounds like a money grubbing mill. PP gives health care to the people who need it most - those who can’t afford it

But really, the fact that they claim contraceptives are addictive should make them a non credible source. Done.

“Hooked on contraceptives”

“Hooked on contraceptives”

Hooked on contraceptives

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhttt.

What.

If birth control is addictive then why do so many women have trouble remembering? Do alcoholics forget to drink? Do heroin addicts forget to do heroin? Come on.

And I’m pretty sure that the guy on the left called Planned Parenthood an “abortion chain”. First off, that’s ridiculous. Second… what are the other supposed “abortion chains” then? He called them the largest, I want to know who he thinks is the second largest.

Of course none of the doctors Taisha has seen carry the ethical versions of the vaccines her children need — those vaccines are practically impossible to find nowadays! Now doctors administer vaccines that were made with tiny little innocent stem cells violently ravaged from the bodies of poor, helpless aborted fetuses. It’s DISGUSTING.
Do doctors not realize that, OK, vaccines are important and all, especially the ones for hepatitis A & B, polio, measles, mumps and rubella, but the Catholic Church is MORE important? Because it is. Yes, it would be shitty if one of Taisha’s kids came down with one of those diseases - especially measles since it’s highly contagious - but really, if she isn’t given a choice then what is she supposed to do? Give her faith the middle finger and vaccine her kids anyway? Oh HELL no. Aborted fetuses deserve a little more respect than that, and so do Taisha’s kids. Thank God there are still some Catholic doctors who understand that.

So apparently risking your children dying from hepatitis or polio is totally the pro-life way to go. Got it.
